Peth Labs ("we," "us") operates the TraceFlow ABC mobile app (the "App"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Who this app is for
TraceFlow ABC is designed for young children (ages 2–6) to use under a parent or guardian's supervision. Account creation, sign-in, and all data collection described below are performed by the parent/guardian, not the child.
Information we collect
Information you provide when you sign up:
- Email address and password (used only to create and secure your account, via Firebase Authentication)
- Your child's name and age (used only to personalize the app — e.g. the "Write My Name" activity — and shown to you on the Parent Dashboard)
- A 4-digit PIN you create (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text — even we can't read it back) to keep the Parent Dashboard separate from your child's part of the app
Information collected automatically:
- None beyond what Firebase Authentication itself requires to operate. We do not use any analytics or advertising SDK — see "What we don't do" below.
Information that stays only on your device:
- Your child's letter-tracing progress (attempts, accuracy, stars, time spent) is stored locally on the device and is never sent to our servers.
How we use this information
- To create and secure your account
- To unlock the full alphabet once you sign up
- To personalize the app with your child's name
- To let you (the parent) view progress on the Parent Dashboard
- To let you reset your password or PIN if you forget it
We do not use your or your child's information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the app.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or other third parties. Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore), which acts as our infrastructure provider — not as an independent third party that uses your data for its own purposes. Firebase's own privacy terms: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
What we don't do
- We show no advertisements, anywhere in the app.
- We do not use any analytics, tracking, or behavioral-advertising SDK.
- We do not collect location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data — the app requests no device permissions beyond vibration (for tap feedback).
- We do not knowingly collect any information directly from children beyond what a parent/guardian enters on their behalf during sign-up.
Your choices and rights
- Access/update: you can update your child's name at any time from the Parent Dashboard.
- Delete your account and data: open the Parent Dashboard (tap the lock icon, enter your PIN), scroll to Settings, and tap "Delete account". This immediately and permanently deletes your account, your child's name, and all progress data — both from our servers and from this device. This action cannot be undone.
- Sign out: signing out from the Parent Dashboard re-locks letters E–Z on that device until you sign back in; it does not delete your account.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
We are committed to protecting children's privacy. The App does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children — any information collected (email, child's name/age) is provided by a parent or guardian during account sign-up, which itself serves as the consent mechanism. We do not show ads to children, do not enable any in-app communication or user-generated content features, and do not use children's information for marketing.
If you believe your child has provided us with information without your consent, contact us at [support email] and we will delete it.
Data security
Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS, via Firebase). Your PIN is never stored in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we collect.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
